Initial research into Audio
It is a television network, which was launched in 1955 as competition to BBC TV. It is one of the oldest commercial networks in the UK. ITV doesn’t have a niche audience as most of their programming appeals to different ages such as X Factor are a family friendly show which appeals to all ages whereas soap operas such as Emmerdale has an older audience as they may have grown up with the show. ITV recently introduced a new way of creating idents by collaborating with artists across Britain to make different varieties of idents throughout 2019. I have linked a few that have already been made this year with British artists such as Jo Taylor where she creates a sculpture to create the ITV logo. I recommend ITV as it has family friendly shows such as “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” and “X factor” which about several contestants from across Britain showcasing their talents to impress the judges to win a prize. And it also has educational shows such as “This morning” which includes celebrity interviews, topical discussions, competitions, news and much more.
CBBC
This is a children network, which is operated by British Broadcasting Corporation. The network launched on the 11thof February 2002. The target audience for CBBC is children between the ages of 6 to 12 year olds. They produce content such as so awkward which are about three socially awkward kids as they go through school and this can relate to their audience as they are attending school and may face similar awkward experiences. I recommend CBBC as it has educational shows such as “Horrible Histories” which is show to inform children about the historical events that took place with humour. However CBBC also have entertaining shows such as the dumping ground, which is about a group of children living in a care home and their struggles.
